& Warwickshire | |
Region
20, the Solihull and Warwickshire branch of the PAC, has been in existence for
9 years now since originally been set up by myself, Steve Bown. I have once again
taken up the mantle of regional organiser after 5 years of sterling effort by
'Mad Mike Bowen' the legendary canoe fisherman and pied piper of Redditch. For
a variety of reasons the region has somewhat quietened off a little over the past
year or so and we find now that the meetings are only been attended by a few of
the old stalwarts and the occasional new face. Modern life means that the evening
meetings are getting more difficult for many to attend and new members find it
hard to learn anything unless you're actually out on the bank. To this end we
have decided to completely change the way our meetings are structured. As
of November we will be holding our meetings on the banks of the Windmill Lake
at Earlswood Lakes, Warwickshire on the 2nd Sunday of every month. This way we
will be doing it rather than talk about it. It will just be an informal fish-in
where we can swap stories, share ideas and where the novices can learn off the
experienced. Sessions will start from midday onwards and will of course be followed
by a visit to one of the local hostelries. Parking is at the bottom of the dam
wall and the fishing will either be on the dam wall itself or up the reservoir
bank depending on weather conditions. Map
here. Dates
for the region Fish-In / meeting TBA All
are welcome. The
success of the region will depend on the enthusiasm shown by the members. Without
your support the region will fold. For
