of New Rules on Norfolk Wildlife Trust Waters Commencing
on the 14.11.98
* Please note the rules duplicated in bold highlight the
changes made to the original rules of the NWT Angling Review.
1.
Only 2 rods per person. 2.
No lures above 8" long and no lure with hooks exceeding 2/0 size. 3.
Lures above 6" long restricted to 2 sets of hooks. 4.
Minimum line strength 20lbs. (Pike Angling). Revision:

15lbs but both PAC and NWT request that line be changed regularly. 5.
Wire Traces - minimum length 18" breaking strain 20lbs. 6.
Pike angling prohibited from 21.00hrs-05.00hrs between 1st November -15th March
both dates inclusive. Revision:
6. Limited pike angling will be permitted at night. Permits must be sought via
R. Starling of NWT prior to fishing. 7.
No erecting of tents/night shelters on Trust property. 8.
Restrictions on guide fishing 9.
No further use of live bait. Revision:
9. Live bait rules: a.
A bucket/container with the upper 50% drilled with 12mm holes and soft net/mesh
covering on top is the only container that will be accepted for use on NWT waters. b.
Only the described container above will be permitted and limited to one bucket
per person. No other container/bucket in boat apart from hand baler. c.
Persons transferring fish from other containers into the proposed container will
not be allowed to fish Trust waters. d.
Live baits must be caught on the same day and pike anglers must be able to show
fishing tackle proving legitimate means of catching bait fish. e.
Only indigenous species can be used for live baits. 10.
No commercial eel netting (Upper Thurne Waters). 11.
No removal of fish. 12.
Barbless or semi-barbless hooks only.
